Anna’s workshop: We’ll focus on Fair Isle technique in the round, working a lovely pair of fingerless gloves.
Frederica's workshop: Explore the magic of Intarsia knitting – the art of working with multiple strands of yarn to create patches of colour without stranding yarns along the back of the work. Perfect for picture knitting, you’ll master this new technique on a fabulous knitted bag project with your choice of letter on the front and a snazzy geometric design on the back. And wave goodbye to purl rows and looking at the listless reverse side of your work with a delve into the sneaky backwards knitting technique. Perfect for knitters who know the basics and are looking to learn new and exciting techniques!
Skill level: Participants will need to have basic knitting skillsWhat to bring: Tapestry needle, stitch marker, scissors.
Check in to your room from 3pm. Join your experts, retreat manager and fellow guests for dinner this evening.
Participants will be split into two groups. Group 1 will do Fair Isle with Anna today, and Group 2 will do Intarsia with Frederica.
Today you will do the second of your workshops. Group 1 will do Intarsia with Frederica and Group 2 will do Fair Isle with Anna.
Depart late afternoon.
Please note: Although there are no mobility requirements for this tour, please note that you will need to be able to make your own way between our workshop rooms, your bedroom and therestaurant, which could involve walks of up to 5 minutes.
