Capture County Kerry’s beautiful scenery and rugged coastline on this 8-day knitting holiday. Journey along the region’s famed road, the Ring of Kerry, visit the 19th-century Muckross House, and explore the Dingle Peninsula. We even take the time to learn all about the 17th-century Kerry Woollen Mills, who’ve been creating fabric and yarn from fine wool for over 300 years and participate in knitting workshops at the hotel in Killarney with our expert.

Debbie Abrahams workshop Information: Taking inspiration from our surroundings, the project will be a knitted accessory that incorporates several different knitting techniques, including some colour work, knitting with beads and textured stitches. The project will use Rowan Yarns and Debbie Abrahams Beads.
Anna Nikipirowicz workshop information: During this holiday, we will work on a lovely accessory, combining two craft traditions of Ireland. We will concentrate on tartan knitting, taking inspiration from traditional County Kerry Tartan and incorporating beautiful cables.
With our flight inclusive package, meet your expert and Tour Manager at London airport for your flight to Cork. Here we will be met by our coach and driver and transfer to Killarney for a seven night stay at the Dromhall Hotel.

This evening there will be a welcome dinner at the hotel.We start the day with our first workshop at the hotel. After the workshop there will be time at leisure to get some lunch before heading out on a Jaunting car ride through the Killarney National Park.
With a traditional Jarvey, be transported back to 15th-century Ireland with legendary stories and capture awe-inspiring views. You will be taken to Ross Castle which sits on the banks of the Killarney Lakes. There will be time at leisure to marvel at Ross Castle and Lough Léin before returning to the hotel.
Today we will enjoy one of Ireland’s most popular scenic drives, the Ring of Kerry. This full day tour will drive us along a small highway that skirts the edge of the Iveragh Peninsula passing rugged coastline, mountains, and lakes, travelling from one scenic wonder to the next.
We will also visit the 17th-century Kerry Woollen Mills who have been creating fabrics and yarn from fine wool for over 300 years! During our visit we will learn how the mill processes wool from fleece through all stages of blending, carding, spinning and winding to weaving a wide range of fabrics and there will also be some time to browse the shop.
This morning we will start the day with our second workshop where you will be able to continue with your project. This afternoon is at leisure for you explore Killarney independently or relax in the surroundings of the hotel.
Today we will visit 19th-century Muckross House, which sits in the heart of Killarney National Park
Our day will begin with a visit to Muckross Weavers where you will be able to see scarves being woven on Hattersly Looms which are almost 200 years old during a short, guided tour of their workshop. You’ll then be able to step back in time as you spend the rest of the day exploring the house, gardens and farm at your leisure before returning to the hotel late afternoon.
Not far from Killarney is the town of Dingle, a small port town on the Dingle Peninsula and from where we will begin the Slea Head Drive. Forming part of the Wild Atlantic Way, this scenic circular route will take you on a journey through Irish speaking villages, stunning scenery and will also include a sheepdog demonstration where you will be able to see a local sheep farmer skilfully working his sheepdogs in gathering and controlling sheep
You will also have the opportunity to see the world renowned Blasket Islands before returning to Dingle where there will be time to explore independently, wander around the shops or relax in one of the cafes.
Return to the hotel late afternoon and spend the evening at leisure.
A final, full day workshop is scheduled for today.
After an early breakfast, if you have booked the flight-inclusive package, we will transfer to Cork Airport and fly back to London.
If you have booked our join direct package, the tour ends after breakfast.<p><b>Tour Notes:</b> You will need to have a reasonable level of fitness to get the most out of this holiday. On excursion days you will need to walk a short distance from the hotel/ship to the coach and you should be able to board the coach unaided. On arrival at the excursion destination, you should be able to alight the coach unaided and there may be a walk between the coach drop off point and the excursion venue. By their nature, walking tours, museum visits etc involve being on your feet for a significant amount of time. Whilst our excursions are taken at a leisurely pace, for the enjoyment of everyone in the group you should be able to keep up with your fellow travellers. </p>
