Meet Lucy and your tour manager at a London airport for your flight to Porto, a coastal city in northwest Portugal. Upon arrival, transfer by coach to your hotel.
The charming city of Porto is a cultural haven famous for its artistic heritage and port wine. During this morning’s walking tour with a local guide, you will enjoy wandering through the medieval district and cobbled streets, capturing some of the highlights including a visit to São Bento Station, considered the most beautiful train station in Portugal due to its hall decorated with thousands of tiles. Continue your exploration of the city on a Six Bridges cruise of Porto. Sail down the River Douro and discover the beauty of the area. After, we will visit a Port Wine cellar for a guided tour and Port tasting.
This morning, we will enjoy our first crochet workshop with Lucy at the hotel.
This afternoon, we will depart Porto and start our journey to Lisbon by coach. On route we will stop and visit the city of Aveiro. Aveiro is perched on the shores of a coastal lagoon and is known for its canals, colourful boats and art nouveau buildings which we will admire as we sail along the waters by boat.
This evening we will arrive into Lisbon and check into our hotel.
Hidden amongst a lush pine forest in the hills of the Serra de Sintra is the picturesque town of Sintra. This morning we will discover the charming town’s fascinating palaces, villas, the ruins of a 10th century Moorish castle and stunning scenery. During your visit with a guide, you will visit the National Palace and the Quinta de Regaleira, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
This afternoon, we will return to our hotel to continue our crochet projects with Lucy.
Today we will enjoy crocheting at the hotel with Lucy. You can also enjoy some of the hotel’s facilities.
Today we will explore the vibrant city of Lisbon, Portugal’s capital, starting the day with a walking tour in the centre, uncovering its rich and varied history. We will then take a bus tour to the Belem District and enjoy a stop at the Maritime Museum for a refreshment and a taste of Portugal’s delicious Pasteis de Nata. Our day continues with a visit to the Jeronimos Monastery and the Tile Museum.
You will have the opportunity to explore further with some time at leisure, before returning to the hotel later in the afternoon.
Enjoy your last full day in Portugal at the hotel with Lucy. Continue with your projects and make the most of the hotel’s facilities.
Transfer to the airport by coach for your return flight to the UK.
Tour notes: You will need to have a reasonable level of fitness to get the most out of this holiday. On excursion days you will need to walk a short distance from the hotel/ship to the coach and you should be able to board the coach unaided. On arrival at the excursion destination, you should be able to alight the coach unaided and there may be a walk between the coach drop off point and the excursion venue. By their nature, walking tours, museum visits etc involve being on your feet for a significant amount of time. Whilst our excursions are taken at a leisurely pace, for the enjoyment of everyone in the group you should be able to keep up with your fellow travellers.
You will stay for two nights at the 4-star Hotel Neya Porto and five nights at the 4-star Hotel Vila Galé Cascais.
